An Overall Review on Frederick Coffee Co & Café

As midterms approach and finals being around the corner as a student going to Frederick Community College, I tend to seek a delightful place to study outside of home and my campus. A lot of people prefer to study in their humble home, but others prefer to study in cafes or other public spaces. Frederick Coffee Co & Cafe is a fantastic place to hit the books.

As I was driving downtown with my friend, Angie Cillo, a fellow FCC student, she pulled into Frederick Coffee Co & Cafe. The cafe is in the historic area on the corner of East Street and Church Street. The brick building has a shaded outdoor seating area if the weather allows free Wi-Fi for its customers and a beautiful, cozy interior adorned with local art from local artists and has a wide range of food and beverages.

The café itself could be crowded with other people also dining in, but that should not disrupt a study session as the volume is still moderate. The other customers were respectful of each other and did not interrupt our study session at all.

As I went to the counter to order, the menu is broad but bold, offering variations of drinks, coffees, and tea; they also have a simple food menu that allows customization for the customer’s satisfaction if necessary. I thought that the prices were a little higher than your average coffee shop, but the quality of the food and drinks made it worth it.

Food options range from sandwiches, salads and soups, and beverages ranging from unique lattes, classic coffees, espresso, and even smoothies. There is a lot to pick from the menu, but there is always something for everyone, especially from their “create your own breakfast sammie” section.

In the winter semester I attended, I often went to Frederick Coffee Co & Cafe. for my study sessions. For my first visit, I ordered a BLT bagel from the create your own section, with an iced matcha latte. The BLT bagel consists of smokey bacon, crisp lettuce, buttery avocado, and ripe tomato held in a toasted everything bagel; it was simple but irresistibly delicious.

The iced matcha was about 16 ounces, but it tasted earthy over ice, with a right touch of sweetness to enhance the green tea flavor, in which it tied perfectly with the BLT bagel, leaving me full and refreshed as I studied in the bustling café.

The staff at Frederick Coffee Co & Cafe were attentive and friendly with their services; they treated Angie and I kindly when we decided to dine in. They gave us a table tent with a number on it to find us once our orders were made and ready, the wait time took less than 15 minutes to come out with our food.

Our server arrived with a smile and greeted us; they showed us where the napkins and extra condiments were in the restaurant just in case we needed them. After, they focus on their other tasks and continue with their work as we did our own. It is a beautiful experience all around, and it is a place where I personally will end up visiting often.

“Every time I personally come to Frederick Coffee Co & Café, I am always looking forward to the friendly atmosphere and the good coffee. I am never disappointed and if I ever have an issue, the team is quick to respond and take care of it.” Angie Cillo, a student of FCC states.

Overall, this coffee shop is one of my favorite places to go to study in, especially because of the food, but the customer base is great too. Everyone down to the staff is friendly and welcoming. Frederick Coffee Co & Café is a suitable place to go to study and will not disappoint you.
