Eternia Dreams Toys & Collectibles in Francis Scott Key Mall opened on September 13th 2025, and is the newest local spot for vintage toys in Frederick.
Eternia Dreams may have started in a garage, but it is now a fully established brand with two storefront locations (Westminster, Maryland and Frederick, Maryland) and an online store. It’s a haven for anyone who loves action figures, dolls, or collectibles of any kind.
“I don’t sell toys,” their website reads. “I sell the happiness that comes with a toy.”
This retail location makes that feeling evident. The amount of love and care put into the store and in these collectibles is clear when you walk in. Eternia Dreams sells both toys still in their original packaging, and loose repackaged ones in clear bags.
The store is full of novelty candies, rows of boxes of vintage comic books, and shelves of Blu-Rays and DVDs. Vintage TV trays and film posters line the walls, and working arcade machines sit in the corner of the shop under a shelf of their largest collectibles, like a giant gremlin from “Gremlins”.
There is a large table of legos for play, binders full of trading cards for sale, and shelves of Funko Pops and autographed memorabilia.
There truly is something for everyone, with a perfect blend of vintage toys like He-Man: Masters of the Universe, old WWE action figured, and retro Star Wars, to more modern toys like Monster High and Hot Wheels. Those are just some of the many, many toy lines you can expect to see.
Not only does Eternia Dreams sell toys, they buy them too through contact on Facebook. Pre-owned toys can now safely find their hands of collectors or a new generation of kids to love them all the same.
The media and toys that people engage with in childhood can have a surprising impact on the brain, even in adulthood. A 2019 Stanford study found that adults who engaged with a significant amount of Pokémon content as children had formed entire brain regions dedicated to the franchise.
The love for your favorite childhood hero or mascot may not just be from the nostalgia in your heart, it could possibly be found in your brain as well.
Playtime is where some of the most essential learning of children occurs. It helps children experiment with feelings, possibility, and identity. Toys can be an escape, a source of pride, a comfort item, an exploration of their own imagination.
Eternia Dreams describes itself as a place “where the spirit of playtime lives on,” a slogan that shows the brand’s clear mission towards embracing that inner-child.
Eternia Dreams in the FSK Mall is open Mondays through Saturdays from 11am-8pm, and Sundays from 12pm-6pm.
