After a long winter, Frederick Community College students are buzzing with excitement and the promise of warmer days of springs breek, which kicked off April 1 and runs through the end of the week. We talked to a few students before the break.
Jamie Taylor, is a second-year social sciences major at FCC, expressed her anticipation for spring break.
“All I want to do over break is get some sun and catch up on my reading list,” Taylor said. “It’s good to have this break to recharge before the final push toward the end of the semester.”
Alexandra Angulo, a second-year secondary education major at FCC, can’t wait to start her spring break. She had plans to go to Virginia Beach with her sister and best friend.
“ The weather has been so up and down recently, I’m hoping for warm weather when I’m there, ” she said.
Diego Reynoso, a first-year sociology major at FCC, said he will be going to Washington, D.C., for the weekend with his family and wants to go to an art museum. Before he goes, he’ll be spending time hanging out with his friends. They have organized a water balloon competition and will be dividing into teams. They call it the “Splash War.”
“Break is definitely needed after the way my semester has been,” he said.
What Reynoso loves the most about the time off is about being with others.
“I get to go out with my family and also spend time being like a little kid in the summer with all my friends, how much better can it get,” he said.
