Small Business Owners on Frederick Community College Campus Share What They Enjoy about Being a Business Owner

We often hear of small businesses and how important it is to show love and support them. So, what is a small business and why should you be giving them your money?

Small businesses are often independently owned and operated, meaning they are not subsidiaries or divisions of larger corporations. They may operate at a local, regional, or niche market level and while some small businesses may expand their reach, they often serve a specific community or market segment. Examples of small businesses include local shops, restaurants, service providers, family-owned businesses, and startups.

On the FCC campus, a few students have already started their businesses. It ranges from nail shops, hair salons, pet sitting, and even photography services.
