Ooooo: What an experience at Camden Yards

With a record of 23-11, the Baltimore Orioles are off to a hot start and there is no better place to be than Camden Yards. The Orioles sit atop the American League and look to repeat this year as AL East champions, giving them a shot at the World Series, their first since 1983.

Located in the heart of downtown Baltimore, Orioles Park at Camden Yards is home to the young and electric Baltimore team and the energy around the stadium has certainly reflected their success. Whether it be the sold-out crowd on Opening Day weekend or the smaller crowds during the week, the amazing fans, food, and good baseball allow for an amazing experience every time.

It is recommended to get to the stadium a few hours before game time so you can get some of the good food in the area before heading inside. Some great spots around the ballpark include Pratt Street Ale House and Pickles Pub. Located just down the street from the ballpark, these two spots have become go-to destinations for locals before, during, and after the game.

If you can’t manage to get down there until game time, don’t worry, there are still many good options inside the park. Some notable spots include Boogs BBQ, a great comfort food spot located just inside the gates serving good barbecue sandwiches and pulled pork. Another location is Jimmy’s Famous Seafood inside the concourse to the right of the entrance. Jimmy’s is known for its crab cakes and crabby fries but also offers Mo Gaba’s shrimp platter. They donate a portion of the proceeds from the platters to Johns Hopkins Children’s Hospital.

Now that you have your food, all that’s left is to find your seats. If you find yourself sitting up top in the nosebleeds or down behind home plate, there is truly not a bad seat in the house. Some people even opt to not sit at all and enjoy the game from the large standing areas that Camden Yards offer. One is up in the Coors Light Roof Deck, which provides a bar-type scene for people to stand, socialize, and watch the game while enjoying some of their favorite drinks.

So whether you are standing, sitting, drinking, or just in the market for some good baseball, Orioles Park at Camden Yards has everything you need. Go O’s!
