Student government plans to change

By Taylor Berger

Kelly Billigmeier, the Student Government Association President, said that the Frederick Community College Student Government Association is creating a foundation for clubs and the Student Government Association. The changes will happen over the course of this semester. “The changes will provide structure to school clubs, and create an efficient Student Government Association,” Billigmeier said.

The Student Government Association is releasing a leadership packet this semester to the school clubs. “The packet gives them some of the resources they will need for reaching out and building upon what they are already doing,” said Billigmeier.

The SGA has also started to become more connected to the students through the outlook program claimed Jessica Woodward Vice President of Communications for the Student Government Association. Woodward said “The College started using the Outlook Program when our 2015 term started, and use it to post everything online.”

The SGA posts all meeting dates and times along with the meeting minutes on Outlook, Woodward said.

“We look at our job descriptions when we get into office and go how we can make it better for the next group,” said Billigmeier.

“So what are we doing specifically? In that area we are making forms like meeting minutes form examples.  All the things you can use to handoff to the next person so they can better reach out to the community,” said Billigmeier.
